Sacrifice on Seminary Ridge
Exhibit Unveiling

Friday, Oct. 9
6:00 - 8:30pm

Seminary Ridge Museum and Education Center and Military Images invite you to the public unveiling of Sacrifice on Seminary Ridge, a special exhibition featuring wartime portraits and personal accounts of the patients, surgeons, and nurses whose lives intersected within the Lutheran Theological Seminary during and after the Battle of Gettysburg.

Many of the featured individuals fought around the Seminary on July 1, 1863, entered its hospital grievously wounded, or worked within its walls to care for the suffering. Their faces and stories offer an intimate look at the human cost of the battle and the extraordinary efforts of those who served in the Seminary hospital.

The event will feature remarks from:

  • Paul Russinoff, SRMEC Board Member and Exhibit Collaborator

  • Codie Eash, SRMEC Director of Education and Interpretation

  • Ron Coddington, Editor of Military Images and Exhibit Collaborator

  • Kevin Canberg, Partner and Director at Fleischer’s Auctions

Admission is free, but advance registration is required.
Light refreshments will be provided.

The exhibition will remain on view through December 6 and will be included with General Museum Admission beginning October 10.

Sacrifice on Seminary Ridge is presented in partnership with Military Images and exclusively sponsored by Fleischer’s Auctions.
